overheating

Default overheating

overheated a few days ago hose buted on the hwy ran on the overflow.... replaced the hose and replaced the thermostat... knwn temp gauge goes to overheating but it never overflows but while driving u can tell it overheating.... any suggestions?

are u seeing any water in the oil or oil in the water?

no water in the oil or oil in the antifreeze... it over heats while diving not in park or siiitng still

Check to make sure your front air dam is still there (it's a spoiler that hangs down under the front bumper below the radiator area). That helps to grab air and divert it through the radiator, and one common cause of overheating on the highway is that part being M.I.A.

and did u bleed the air out of the system? sometimes u have to do it two or three times.

The cooling systems on these third gen's aren't as complex as we're used to with the LT1. It operates like any old gen 1 engine setup, no bleed screws (mine didn't have one), and no need to bleed. Just top off the radiator.

if you have the electric fan make sure its working you can ground it so it runs all the time i did that to mine and it runs at 180 now all the time good luck scotty
