over heating sorta

Default over heating sorta

well when im on the highway an get to about 60+ it starts to redline and gets really hot but when im in town or slow down it goes back down fine its just when i go about 60 any ideas, 305 carb

Check your lower valance(I think that's the right term), it may also be called an air deflector. It's the plastic piece right under your radiator. http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product...dept%5Fid=1249this is the one that i put on my camaro, fixed the same problem right away. GM should still produce it for your bird.

what are the chances are that i just bought the car this weeek that something could be clogged an a radatior flush might do the trick

At highway speed it would be an airflow problem, unless the same problem happens when the engine does the same amount of work at a lower speed.

ok so you said it starts to redline and gets hot i hope u mean the temp gauge is and not the rpms? but i had a camaro that dod the same thing pver 60 and it was the grill, it was aftermarket and was stopping air flow. try running the fan inside your car it should help to keep it cool
