Isn't your belt system a serpentine? You sure they gave you a reverse rotation water pump?

yup, it was pumping when i first put it on, i just drove it a bit, stayed cool for a while then the temp started climbing

so it seems to me like it might be a bad pump or a slight clog, i was just driving it and as long as it was being revved or driven the temp was below 220

is it only getting hot at low speed? its normal for these cars to run 250 when under 30 mph if the cooling system is left factory. do you have the oem rad or a cheap aluminum/plastic aftermarket one? my temps rose when i switched to an el-cheapo alum. rad. fans working and air dam in place? is it clean between the rad and a/c condenser?

i was thinking about switching to a bigger radiator, but there is no condensor in it, i have dual electric fans wired to a toggle, the air dams are 2 scoop like peices correct?

ok, it was running nice and cool for around 30 minutes tonight, then bam, rising to 260, im pulling the pump off tomorow, its gotta be the problem

water pump could be clogged but not likely. when a water pump fails it leaks and or the bearing goes out, i have never seen or heard of one that quit pumping. how old is the raditator? i would say its the radiator thats failing, only takes a few of the tubes to plug and itll run hot.

the air dam is the long, 4-5" plastic peice under the car, directly below the rad. its common for them to get ripped off, and are a major peice to direct air flow to the rad. under what conditions does it get hot? i used the 350 twin fan setup on my car as well, and it did not cool mine nearly enough. i would recomend upgrading the fans. these are about the most inexpensive fans for the amount of air they move. both stock fans combined flow about 800 cfm, whereas one of these flows 1200 and are small enough to fit two on the rad http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRO-67012/

i also use this one on my dd http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRO-67016/ and during the summer when it was 110* in the sun, with the a/c cranked full blast, it never went over 200 moving and 210 sitting still. my dd is a 95 blazer, 4.3, and has a bit of work, and a 180 t-stat. ive also towed about 2500 lbs with the a/c on when it was 95 and with that fan, never passed 210 on the flats

That's the strange thing is it ran below 220 before the rebuild, it is just not moving enough coolant. I pulled the rad and flushed everything, even blew it out, it is coming out of the thermostat housing, but not how it was, I'm goin to pull the water pump off tomorrow and take a look, its gotta be somethin there
