Hello, first time poster here and very new to the scene. Anyways, i recently turned 18 (This Tuesday actually) and i got handed down my fathers 1992 Camaro that he got for free about half a year ago. We worked on it to get it back to working condition (Little stuff that it needed to work properly). So yes this is my very first car and let me tell you, i just fell in love with it, i love the body style how it drives, just everything about the car. My fam of course dislikes it and wish i would just buy a small car and be happy with it .

That being said, as you can see from the pictures, its still being fixed. Recently my father lost the keys to the car, so i had to disable VATS to get it to start again and seems like were having problems getting the steering wheel back on (I haven't had much time to work on it, because of finals) so any help on that would help since the plastic circular part that goes in before the airbag switch got broken, recent visits to the junkyard have been failures since theirs no camaros there.

So here are some of my questions, What motor is it? Like i said im new to the scene and would like to get the car back on its feet and running/looking good. It's a 1992 Camaro Rs Z28 25th Ed as far as i know

If you need any more info let me know, today might be the first day i get to work on the car since im not that busy

Hey man, congrats on the new camaro and welcome to the site. if thats the original engine im going to say its a 305.

 

But as far as it being a RS/Z28, that wasnt an option, your car is a

 

crap, sorry about that i beleive your car is an RS or rally sport. does it not have any emblems on the rocker panels or rear bumper??

 

You have an RS (not a Z28) with the 305 TBI (throttle body injection). For reference, the TBI unit looks sort of like a strange fuel injection carburetor. Not a great engine, but at least better than the v6.

 

Camaro 69 is right. U have a base L03 V-8: 90-degree, overhead valve v-8. Cast iron block and head. bore and stroke:3.74 x 3.48 in. Displacement: 305 cid (5.0 liters). Compression ratio: 9.3.1 Brake horsepower: 170 at 4000 rpm. Torque: 255 ft-lbs at 2400 rpm. 5 main bearings. Hydraulic valve lifters. Induction system: electronic fuel injection. Optional in Camaro RS hatchback coupe, standard in Camaro RS convertible and Z28. VIN code: E. --------------I have gutted many out and replaced them with 350's. I thought the 25th aniversary editions had the 350? Guess that was just an option you could get?

 

So the momentous or not day is approaching when my 5YO will not be going to school. How do I find out what I need to do or who I need to send letters to or what? I am uneducated. I live in KY and I want to be prepared for what I need to do. Thanks for the help
