You got a manual so you have no computer control anything on the tranny. You could put what ever you want. You could go with a 700R4 that is the auto in Camaros'.You would have to get a controler for the lock up converter but they can be found for under $100 (or over) and the 700 can be found with a torqure arm mount. Any other tranny will need a mount for the torque arm. Those can also be found. There are units that bolt into the floor pan and have short torque arms.

Leave your existing computer alone, and don't try to retro-fit a different one.
This is what you need:
700R4 Lockup

Thats right don't do anything with your computer. There are other controlers to choose from also. There are some where you can adjust where the converter locks up at. The converter locks to give you a direct drive, no slipage, so you will get better fuel economy.....And lower emissions. Right Camaro69

No because that is all contained in the computer. You do that you would have some extra wiring to do. Your computer harness may not be the same and there is a switch on the brake pedal that would need to be wired in.

Basically, it's a Can O' Worms you don't wanna open. Hooking up the stand-alone lock-up controller will wind up being a lot less time consuming, and less aggravating. Unless you got a lot of hair on your head, cuz you'll be doing a lot of pulling!!!

It isnt hard at all to swap from manual to auto, and I can relate if it is your leg that is really bothering you.

The TCI kit works, thats what I put in mine, however as Ive said before, if I were to do it again I would go with the Painless kit from jegs, its another $100 or so, but is quite a bit nicer.
