No production numbers for the 5-sp. However. 4000 + 305 TPI 's were made for only the Z28 model and my guess is 80% were automatics so about 800 were 5sp's in 1992. Most 5-sps were in the RS models as people did not like to spend money on options.

Well, that sounds pretty cool. I have one of these seemingly rare z28's take away half of the ones that where wrecked/scrapped I would guess I might have one in around 200? Sound about right?

My only problem I face with this car is the fact that when I bought the car the K-Member on the passenger side is split right where the lower control arm bolts up to it. I'm in the process of ordering a new tubular K member for it from classic Industies, but if the bolt hole does not line up where this k member is busted at, that would mean a useless car and would have to be sent to the bone yard. Thus leaving me to start over. I am really wanting to fix This car though because of it's rarity. I have already started ordering some smaller priced parts for it. I am planning to completely re do the front suspension. Just ordered new Lakewood 70/30 struts and new OEM springs from classic industries. Other parts are the K member (of coarse) and tubular control arms. And a three point strut tower brace. As well as a steering brace.

When you narrow down the damage to a unibody to one or two holes a frame shop can pull the body fairly cheap. I am not an expert but 2- three hours on a deacent frame machine should be more then enough. Most frame shops are $100-$125 per hour. That means it could cost as little as $200.

You would be amazed at what can be fixed. I remember one brand new Iroc that hit a tree at 85 MPH. The battery was pushed into the firewall. It was fixed. 19K work of work but it was a 27K car.
