Even those are not big HP adders, so you may be at stock HP again.

You'd be very very lucky with that amount of milage to be even at 175. Its time for a re-build to do everthing that should have been done to that car. I'm right smack in the middle of swapping mine out for a new stroker and new 4l60.

Hey guys thanks for all the input. Heres an update, I called the guy I bought the car from and asked him for details this is what he told me, the engine is not original, it is from a 95 chevy truck with a 4 bolt main, the milege from the truck was 44,000, with the miles I've put on it should be in the mid 60's, the heads are 305 h.o and the tpi is from the original 350 from the car. If all this is true, I don't know. But this is what I was told.

Anything now would be a guess....Too many unknowns about this swap, I would suggest spending money for a Dyno test if your curious about the HP. Also don't be shocked by the results. I dislike Franken cars put toghter by people with little knowledge of what they are doing just so it runs.

Hey man i agree 100%, i wish that i would have been told this prior to purchase but even still i would have bought it. the car is in excellent shape and it is a very strong running car doesent smoke or use oil. but ive been shopping and im leaning towards a GMPP ZZ4 Crate 350. from classic industries. one question, is is easy to swap the tpi onto this engine??
thanks.
thanks.

There is nothing "easy" about an engine swap, sure its not brain surgery, but it takes forever! You wouldn't believe the amount of crap that has to be done to get it right. I've got maybe 30-45 hours into mine between taking he hood off, pulling the motor/trans out, labeling the harness, removing the stock pulley system and re-mounting it on the new motor, installing motor mounts (they are a *****!) installing new sensors.....you get the picture. oh, and neither the new motor or new trans are back in yet....then the real fun starts
To answer you 1st question, as long as all associated sensors, and harnesses are in the car and currently operational, take care during your swap and you should be ok. Just make sure anything you have built, or purchased will work well with TPI. Classis industries is good, but there are way better engine guys out there that can point you in the right direction. I almost went with a classis industries zz4 crate, but I ended up with a much higher end build and now have more power than I'll ever need or want. Its more $$$$ and just as reliable but you get what you pay for
