Default HELP!! 84 Z28 WONT START

I recently bought a 84 Z28 Camaro. It has the 5.0L HO with a 5 spd. Has an Isky full cam.I was driving home from work and she let out two pops and died. My rochester cpu controlled carb had been giving me issues recently so it was my first attempt to fix. ordered and installed a replacement carb hoping to solve, and still would not start. next shot was at spark. i replaced the rotor, cap, wires, and plugs. engine will crank no problem but is still not starting. i have limited tools with no current tester or code reader. i was considering replacing the coil next, but ive already spent $400 just guessing..... can anyone help???

does it have an electronic fuel pump?? if it does, turn the key to "on" and listen for the pump to prime. if it doesn't, you've got a dead pump.

1) Fuel 2) Air 3) Spark.....

You say its carbed....is there gas gas squirting into the bore when you manually thumb the throttle?
Yes...proceed to 2.
N0.......ck all fuel delivery items....carb,filter,lines,PUMP,tank filter....in this order.....

2) AIR...duh.......

3) Spark......pull a plug, ground it,crank, and look for spark.
Yes......go to (4)
No.....replace spark ****....(complex computer ****...)

(4)....what is it doing? Catching but not starting? Any ignition at all? Fires and dies?

Aside from the above post, check your fuel filter,i was doing a tuneup on my 83 camaro and replaced the Fuel filter and it would NOTstart after that,im serious too,it wasthe correctnapa filter and i had it on the correct direction, and even reversed it with no luck...until i put the old one back on...go fig.[8D]

But check your carb and make sure you have fuel.Squirt in some starter fluid if you think everything else is good. You may have a weak fuel pump if she does run but only briefly, but check your lines and any fuel filters....
