exhaust ??????

Default exhaust ??????

jus ordered a set of long tube headers . opinions ?
by getting rid of the smog pump bs will the car throw a code ? if so will it run like **** cause of the code ?
i've also ordered a chip from tbichips.com , i'm gonna go no cats an cherry bombs an true duell exhaust.
looking for opinions good or bad ....

Nope, disconnecting the air pump hoses, and/or the wires to the control valve won't throw a code. And the engine won't run like **** either. The pump doesn't impede engine performance, other than the drag of turning an extra pulley driven component, which is minimal.

what does the pump do anyway ?
found a problem , whats the best way to figure out if it's the tranny or the converter slipping ? wot = 7000rpm's an the speedometer doesn't go up .

The air pump runs on a cold engine to help heat up the catalytic converter faster to keep cold engine emissions down. It's not needed with a hot engine.
The tachometers on these 3rd gen's often go bad and give an off reading. The one on my old 91 read double. You might want to hook up an external tach to test yours, it's possible the one in your dash is lying to you.

thanks man i thought mine was wrong sounds good idleing but reads real high ideling
