Hey I just purchased a 1992 camero RS and I am having coolant problems. I put a new thermostat in and some new coolant in but the problem is still there. What is happening is after I am done driving when I turn off the car the coolant is bubbling in the reservoir and sometimes fills to the top. If you have ne idea what this could be please help me out.

 

Is it getting hot? Whats the temp? How many times did it get warmed up enough to open the tsat? It may just need to burp. Check the resivour when its cold and see where the level is at. If its low then add more. Is the serpintine belt routed correct? Do you have the sticker to check it? It should come up from the right side of the crank (as you face the engine) and go under the water pump and around it from the left.

 

Yeah the serp belt being routed right is a bigger!!! cause serpentine belt driven water pumps, are reverse rotation.

 

Yea I am having the same problem. I am going to try to burp it again. I changed the stat already too.
