Default Choke light

1987 Camaro Iroc z28 305 tpi changed to 4 bl carb. changed choke thermostat
choke set to 1/8 closed. choke opens fully when hot.4bl kicks in, engine runs and idles normally, changed idle stop solenoid to open with ac comp, changed
alternator. Choke light will not go off. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Your TPI didn't have a choke, but since the base models were carbureted, I'd have to imagine the wiring and dash warning lights may be the same. Did you grab an abandoned factory wire to hook the choke thermostat to, or wire it new? And what kind of a carb did you use, I'm supposing it's not a computer controlled one like would have come factory? Sometimes, a choke light isn't related to the choke, but is an indication that the charging system isn't putting out a sufficient amount. Check your alternator output with a volt meter.
