Default A/C and smog pump eliminator help!!

I want to eliminate the A/C compressor and the air/smog pump which were on the passenger side. I want to keep the original alternator and power steering bracket which is on the driver side,so I wont need an entire kit such as the ones from March. I am hoping there is a company who makes a belt tensioner, pulley, and bracket combination that will bolt right in place of that huge original bracket that held the A/C and air/smog pump. This is a 1991 RS with 350. I have gone to carb and headers.

Any help? Any ideas? thanks

Dorman makes pullys to eliminate the a/c compressor. They may also make one for the AIR pump. I know there is one for the air pump though because it comes in the GMPP serpintine belt kit. You can search on summitracing.com or just about any parts store near you. (autozone, napa, csk)
And unless you swapped the engine or have the police package a 91 RS will have a 305.

Indeed a swap has been done.The305 outto pasture and a reworked 350 Vortec engine from a 1997 Suburban in.I chose this motor for it's low end torque.AGM Hot Cam,KBpistons, Air Gap intake just toname a few upgrades.

Anyways, I have checked with Dorman, but they only carry the pulleys to eliminate the A/C compressor and the smog pump. I would have to use the original bracket and as you probably know, that thing is very big and gaudy especially when the A/C and the smog pump are gone.A real waste of space. The unfortunate thing is that bracket also holds the belt tensioner which I need to find a way to reusesince thealternator and power steering are non adjustable.

thanks for your reply

Then maybe put a standard rotation water pump on and the pre serpintine belt brackets on. (pre 86 maybe) You cant be to picky and have to find a happy medium.

I'm sure your setup is a lot different than mine, but in my tpi 305 I eliminated the ac and smog pump with no modification at all.

02blackonblack, I assume this in on your older 86 Z, I think this had V belt set up. My 91 has the serpentine.

thanks for your reply

I use a serptentine as well. They make a belt with a "no AC" option, which means it's just a shorter belt made to eliminate those extra pulleys.
