Broken Transmission mount .. again

not to mention traction bars are for leaf sprung cars. get either the prothane mount or engery suspension mount. using poly mounts actually transmits more torque to the ground because the engine and driveline isnt rolling around. theyre worth the money

Interesting- you just gave me an idea for mine...... I'm installing a custom motor/trany combo in mine in the next month or so.
It really doesn't matter if the torque arm is mounted to the tranny in a stock configuration- or to the cross member.....

That sure will make things easier!

Here's a curiosity question for you craby...do you know why those factory mounting pads are there on the body?
Was there an eventual plan to do the arm mount a better way, but never implemented? Or were those used in the assembly line process?

originally theres a cross member there, i guess to stiffen up the body. the torque bar crossmember replaces the stock one.

Ahhhh, ok. I never really dug that deeply under my 4th gens. They stayed "regular". heh heh
