I have a 1990 Camaro RS and to be honest it sounds like a weakling and I'm not really used to having a car that sounds so weak. It has a 305 in it and also I'm not used to having a Camaro either. I used to drive a Mustang GT. I need some advise to make it faster and sound better cheaply. Thank you.

 

Well first of all, what is your budget? If you can afford it, I suggest that you upgrade your engine to a 350.

 

Well around where I live I can find 350's very cheap and my father in law can build any camaro from the ground up and is willing to teach me. Don't really have an exact figure on my budget just trying to get advise by you guys then figure in a budget around the mods. I will be doing my own work in our shop. So I will not be paying any labor cost

 

The 305 is definitely not worth putting money into, performance-wise. Not when you can put that money into a 350.

Well with your father in law's help, it shouldn't be too difficult. A lot of the parts from your car can be switched over. This link should help.
