Default Ac problems

Can anyone help me please? A couple of months ago my low coolant light came on and my car overheated. The same day my ac quit blowing cool air. I took it to a shop and they flushed my radiator and cleaned my sensor. Put 2 cans of freon in and ac still would not cool. They disconnected my battery and reset computer. It blew cool until today and we have disconnected the battery and reset the computer twice, but for some reason it will blow cool for a little while then it stops. Any ideas on how to solve the problem.

might not have enough freon staying in the system to activate the circuit, sounds like a leak, probly the condenser, when you turn the car off with the a/c on does it hiss like there is air coming out somewhere, if it does thats probly your problem.

Good possibility you have a leak and the freon is leaking out. As car get older the seals and hoses dry out and allow the freon to excape. Your best bet would be to go to a shop that specializes in AC and have them test the system.

What no one adressed was that your car overheated. If you engine cooling fan is not working it is not pulling air through the radiator or condensor. You need air to go through the condensor for the a/c to get cold. Do you have an electric or engine driven fan? Do you have coolant in the radiator and exspansion tank?

Good point MadmikeZ28, if the fan doesn't work, then the AC won't work too well either.
