My 92 RS 305 TBI heats up whenever I turn on the a/c.
I have replaced all the cooling system and I still have the same problem.
Anybody knows what may be causing the car to heat up?

Does the fan come on when the AC is turned on. If the car has a 2 speed fan it should go to high speed, if it has 2 fans, they should all go on

 

A/C will cause the car to run hotter in stop and go traffic. It is normal and when the temp hit 220 deg and that is the temperature that the paasenger side fan will come on. These cars were designed to run hot to meet the emission standards in the 80s

you are normal if the Temperature stays around 220 Deg. These cars run hot as I said before.

 

see if you can get a temp reading at the thermostat. im going through everything to lower the temps on my car for racing and high heat driving.

 

I wish it will stay at 220 but the needle on the gauge goes all the way to the end.
There was this time that it turned off, and I had to wait for it to cool down in order to start it again..
I really would like to use the car withe the a/c on, especially here in Laredo were we are already hitting the 100s.[:@][:@][:@]

 

Shouldn't ever let it get that hot. Cars tend to frown on that. I know allot about volkswagens, this is my first camaro i got, but mine looks like its a mecanical clutch fan or something to that effect. Is yours an electric fan, or attached to crank/water pump. If its an electric fan i'd look into somewheres into a sensor gone bad, or an electrical problem. Or maybe just new fan. if mecanical not sure on that. My ac doesn't work, and i just cut hoses out of it.

 

I'd guess the sensors are bad. I just had a bunch of work done on mine after sitting for a while, and both my sensors were bad. It seems there's a sensor on each head; one controls the fan switch and the other goes to the sending unit for the temp gauge.Before the gauge unit was fixed, the ONLY way I could get the fan to come on was to turn the A/C on, which of course robs power and hurts fuel economy. I had a toggle switch in the console wired into the fan to turn it on manually, but now it's all fixed.

 

Well... My Iroc-z has a t-roof thus i dont need A/C. It's bad for you anyways, BUT my car had Big problems with overheating, turns out the Fan Motor Was harsh and seized up pretty much. Swapped in a another and im off to the races..

My car has really weird wiring, my fan turns on 3/4 igition and stays on until i stop and get out of the car.
