Default 305... Pop Pop Pop... hmmm?

Hey guys,

It's been around 3 weeks since I started up the Z28 and actually been driven. Well my Dad and Iwere returning home and we decided to punch it pretty hard for awhile. Then we had to go back out and look for my mom, we thought she got in a wreck because she hadn't returned home.

So I start to notice these POPS and I thought it was a tire but we were fine. Then at the Light I could smell like something was burning but there was no smoke.

Then the car wasn't accelerating quick like usual and pops werepretty loudly.

We put $10 of 91 to see if we were low, or needed a cleaner fuelbit. (Don't ask me)

Anyways it accelerated quicker but the pops were still there.

What is going on? I asked my buddy if my engine was gonna blow and he's like "yea dude your F'd"

Am I really? Hope not, only good think out of this is would be a 350...

-Peace

Sounds like timing! might have jumped a link in the chain, or your distributor hold down was,nt tight and it moved. put it back on #1 cylinder TDC and see where your rotor is inconjuction with #1 on the cap, either before or after & possibly headed toward #8. im sure you know the firing order? all sbc same 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 good luck.

Its been almost 3 months and the poor guy finally gets a response. Hopefuly he got it fixed by now. I would have guessed a bad plug wire or two.
