Thumbs down 305 little power and overheating. Need help

Hey guys,
I have a 305 TPI, recently i've noticed that the car has been hesitating, and having very little power. The car has no mods except magnaflow exhaust. Also its been overheating in stop and go traffic. The plugs havent been changed in a while, and I no its bad but the coolent is rust colored . My question is if a radiator flush and changed plugs fix these problems? or is it something more serious.
Thanks.
Zach

yes, the rust colored coolant will cause high temps, but more or less all the time, not just stop and go. how hot is it getting? 230 is normal for these year cars

The fan turns on when it needs to. I just flushed the radiator, it took like 5 hours to get clean water running ha. Before the flush it was running around 235, but now like 210, even in the heat in SC. It's probable running a little cooler because it's an automatic... It seems to be running a lot better now? Thanks guys.
