I am about to buy an 86 IROC with a 305 TPI in it. Ive heard that with a good tune of your carb you can get much more power out of an engine than with fuel injection. Is this true, and how much of a project would changing it to carb'd be? Is it really worth the extra power on a 305 or just a waste of time? Any help is great.

 

I remember reading an article in Super Chevy where they were testing different combos. Basicly the fuel injection showed the max HP come earlier in the lower RPM range that a carb and both had the same ponies.
Granted there are a lot of variences to consider. what intake, cam, etc..
