305 to 350 swap?
good luck. i really want a tpis intake and some stainless 1 3/4" long tube headers. but in order to run them, i need to redo the tune. but to handle that i need to upgrade the trans and rear. i also need to have the rear wheels widened and the subframe connectors installed. and my brakes dont stop well, so that needs done before i can go faster... its a vicous cycle
I suppose it is, eh?
Well, since all the snow is finally gone, I washed it off as best I could with just a garden hose, then pushed it back a couple feet to try to prevent flatspotting on the tires. I heard grinding noises when releasing the handbrake and from the rear axle while pushing it.
I ams concerned. And very "grateful" to my father for giving me this opportunity to be concerned by failing to keep his promises.
At any rate, have you had any experience with TPI PARTS ? I was thinking about picking up the knock sensor and ESC module from them, and then talking to pcmforless.com about a PROM chip.

ive never heard of them before. im still running the stock esc module without any issues. the tune from pcm for less takes care of the timing tables. im also running a 305 knock sensor at the moment as i found out after i had the car running that i should have used a 350 sensor. either way, i had it desensitized. im running 12* base timing and it runs up to about 40* in normal operation and running 92, i hear no pinging
Well, I picked up the engine today. I ran totally out of time to spare so it is currently sitting on an old tire in the middle of my driveway with a car cover over it.
Soon as I get some time I'm gonna have to figure out how to put together the stand I borrowed, and then I can hopefully get started on it.
Pictures will come after the sun rises again~
I guess I might need a little help when I go to fill out pcmforless's order sheet, just 'cause I still have no idea what I am doing, lol.

Ok, here's some pictures of the engine. Any tips for cleaning it up before I get to work on it?

have you chosen a machine shop to go over the 100k mile engine?
I haven't.
I intend to pay someone to put the engine in for me- I'm gonna drive by a shop I know of after work tomorrow and see how it goes.
Unfortunately my helper is not able to devote the time needed to get the swap completely done, and on my own I don't think there's much of anything I can do. The intention is that we'll do the heads and cam ourselves, and then I'll tow the car to the shop and have 'em do the swap for me.

heck, its harder to put a cam and head package on than it is to put the motor in the car. i put the motor in without the intake on since the intake is so huge. and i wonder who added the oil cooler and why. it looks like it would be factory
