1991 fuel pump

RE: 1991 fuel pump
The pump is in the tank, and to change it the right way, you need to drop the tank. It's not a difficult job, just time consuming. You have three options...pay someone to do it, do it yourself, or don't drive the car. And don't let someone talk you into going the "cut an access hole in the floor" way. This model has 4 steel lines going into the sending unit on top of the tank. None of them have a splice joint, which means you would have to cut all 4 lines to be able to weave the sending unit out of the tank. Then you would want to flare at least the high pressure supply line to reconnect. I would not recommend half-assing the job and chancing a leak which could then drip down onto your exhaust. I just replaced the pump on my 91 this summer, the right way.

WHAT?? NOOOOOO why pay 500 $ ?!?!?!?1
maybe you didnt understand its just nuts and bolts then a weird twist on the top of the tank.
i got a bone yard fuel pump for my s10 for $25 and a new tank for 40 took two hours cause we like to take breaks.
and the only difference is the camaro sits lower so you need a good jack.

RE: 1991 fuel pump
your learning. shops arent going to do the job for a fair price because theyd never stay in business.
think about it your paying for the managers salary the labor the (overpriced) parts and all thier overhead (rent electric gas)
you already pay your own overhead on your garage so why add to someone elses paycheck
