Default Starting issues

so y 1990 rs camaro wont start. i went outside to leave and i turned it over and it acts like it is in gear and u try to start it...nothing happens.....all my lights work good...i think it is something to do with the chip or the computer ..can anyone help?

does the starter itself crank over ? just because the lights work doesnt mean the battery is good, it only takes 1 volt to use the lights, but you need at least 11 volts to start the car

the key will turn but nothin... the battery is definetly good it has 13 volts and its recently new ...when i turn the key its the same way as if the car was in gear and u tried to start it.

i have spark and my fuel injectors are good..

spark isnt an issue here.have you replaced the ignition switch yet ?

does it fire sometimes and other times not start at all??

yes it used to sometimes fire now nothin im pretty sure its the ignitoion switch or something with the computer not being able to read the VATS and i was going to bypass the VATS and hopping that will work befor i replace the ignition.

have your starter checked. it could just be the starter motor has gone bad

i removed the starter and took it too kragen it passed 3 times so i think it is the ignition lock cylinder needs to be replaced
