Trying to get my 89rs to run. She starts up, but whenever i push on the gas it bogs down and sometimes dies.
Just replaced the fuel filter. Any suggestions? I'm close to just bringing it to a mechanic, but would like to find the problem on my own!
any suggestions?

 

could be some bad gas, try puttin some more gas in it and slowy easing in on the pedal

 

When was the last time it has run properly? Have you checked your timing?

 

Your fuel pump could be on it's way out and it's unable to keep up with demand.
Your cat converter could be bad and restricting exhaust flow.
Bad fuel pressure regulator.
Bad fuel injector(s).
Might need a tune up...plugs, wires, cap & rotor.
When did it start acting this way, and was it a gradual thing or all of a sudden?

 

It was all of a sudden. randomly started acting weird on the way to work one day, after my shift she wouldnt run well enough to drive.

 

could be bad gas, drain thwe fuel thats in the tank, clean it out well and put about 4 gallons of premium in it.

 

i have been having the same troubles out of my 91 3.1 i replaced everything in the ignition all my sensors fuel relay fuel filter and all turns out my injectors were bad! put new ones in last night and now she purrs like a kittin maybe it will help you
