87 2.8 V6, which engines can i swap into it

i found my GMPP 350/290hp with a t5 for 400$ from some old dude who had it siting around. but if u look on craiglist or somewhere like that they always have deals like that. the swap in total was about 600$ including the 400 for the motor.

I know this is probably a dumb question..but um..wats a t5?? I don't know much about cars, really just getting into it now. Is that like the type/strength of tranny?

a t5 is a 5speed tranny. t56 is the 6speed and t10 is the 4speed

The T5 is a a weaker tranny.

Nice find. I've been checking out Craigslist the past few days and havent seen this. Thank for the heads up, I'm actually going to go look at it tomorrow.

You get what you pay for. There are so many good motor guys in Pa, Ny, and NJ, that its not funny. Sure for 750$ you get that, but all wear is suspect until you break it down and look. You can get some great motors for a resonable price without the unknowns. Just an opinion.

Yeah, I decided not to go with it. I'm actually looking a new engines now. Might as well do this thing right once then have to pay for it down the line. I'll let you guys know what I decide to get. Suggestions are always welcome. Needs to be a carb engine tho. lol
