Can you hear your fuel pump when you first turn the ign key in the ON position? So how did you mount your carb onto the engine. Did you swap out the entire intake or use some type of adapter? Did you also swap out to an HEI distributor with the carb?
Next time you may want to try and post this in the V8 section. You'll get a better response to your specific vehicle.

So did I. Even if you can hear the pump prime, it still might not have enough strength to pump fuel all the way to the front and through the injectors. Disconnect the inlet line from the TBI, put the end in a container, and turn on the pump. See if it runs out strong or dribbles as the pump primes.

ok so it could be your computer in the car if you replaced your fuel pump but im 100% sure it's your fuel pump i had the same promblem with my 305 i replaced the fuel pump and bam solved the promblem so drop the tank it takes about 2 hour's and also replace the fuel filter that could be clogged and not enough pressure getting in the line and make sure no gas is in your oil pull the dip stick and see if the oil smells like gas if it does change the oil sense you changed the carb could be dumping gas in to the oil had that promblem also just keep in mind too sometimes when the mass air flow sensor goe's bad that does control the injectors too and the fans and gives you 20 diffrent codes when you scan your computer for code's so chill out take a breather and replace the fuel pump first and the oil and the fuel filter that will take care the promblem alright so do that first ok
