I hadnt realized that it would be all that much of a bother to go slow over speedbumps and not fly into driveways.

 

You can always toss in a big block to drop the front end that way it looks like you lifted the back end. And don't worry I'm sure a good set of headers will keep you from scrapin the oil pan.

 

Its no bother for me. In fact I have the same ride as the person who first aked this question and I also had the same problem. It scraped as I went in and out of parking lots and I went as slow and carful as possible. I could feel the car lift and lower as I drove on the freeway. I simply got the Eibachs lowering srings for the front and rear and they are such a better spring they took away the scraping. I do not need to baby it over the same bumps and drives I used to
The stock springs were more of a bother.

 

sounds like everyone's stock springs have lost tension. i personally think that's what i'm dealing with right now. OE replacements are as expensive as good lowering springs, so i may end up with a set of lowering springs instead.

 

You know what funny about late 2nd gen cars? The front end is so low to the ground that the jack wont fit under the front of the car with a flat tire. (at least on the 80-81's). In fact, there's no directions for changing the front tires in case of a flat...only the rear. The previous owner of my car bought a special scissor jack for the front end and it only fits under the front end if someone pulls the front end of the car up by hand (pulling up on the wheelwell) while the other guy sticks the jack in. I can't wait to get a flat on the highway...

 

The previous owner of my car (RS 305 TBI) cut the stock springs to lower the car instead of buying aftermarket springs and I scrape EVERYWHERE. Madmike, you said the Eibach's look good and don't scrape. Do you have a part number and price? I want a set of those Eibach's because I like how it looks lowered, but I'm ripping apart the underside of my car. I plan on dropping ina 350 soon tho, will that make a difference as far as what kind of springs to buy?

 

Ibought the springs when I was in bussines for myself so I did not pay retail. Also I looked but the invoice is packed away and my personal invoice has the distribuors stocking number. They will work with a 350 though. The weight difference is not that much more than a 305. (how much do bigger pistons weigh)

I looked and compared the distributer part number and I got the 3801-14 pro kit.
