unique swap
I would really appreciate some help from people that have some experience with this type of swap. my son just bought a 87 Camaro sports coupe 305 carberated w/automatic transmission.
he has a 1976 ,350 sitting in the garage and wants to swap the engines. since I don't have to worry about emissions where I live. I was thinking about ripping out all the wiring and vacuum hoses.
drop in the 350, bolt on the stock transmission. wire up my own coil and hook up throttle. bolt on stock exhaust.
here's where I need the help. can anybody think of any issues or problems or complications that I might run into. I would like to prepare for them before I start turning wrenches. thank you for your help in advance. any and all information is appreciated.

Welcome to the Club, Fan - quality time with Son.
Should be Plug & play and use existing wiring, exhaust, and throttle connections.
Might as well plan on changing maintenance items - belts and hoses, fuel & vacuum.
Also, you will need to cover up fuel pump opening on '76 block as mechanical pump is not used if 305 is TBI and uses fuel tank pump.
If 305 is TBI'd (EFI), transfer manifold to 350 and let ECM learn to operate 350.
Better drive ability with EFI.

As stated, it's a simple out with the old in with the new swap. Since yours is a carbureted model (V8 sport coupe didn't come FI), there's no need for fuel supply concerns, set it up the way your current engine is now.
