Bottom end is just about done. Went with a comp cams XR276HR cam, and a comp cams double roller timing chain and nylon cam button. Just need an oil pump and pan, then i can start collecting components for the top end. Decided to go with a color change on the block.

Yea, I felt like the orange was out of place. The rest of the car is gray and black, the orange just didn't fit.

The bottom end is finished . Installed the oil pump and pan, as well as the timing cover. Had to get an aluminum timing cover because i needed to use a cam button, as i had bought a retrofit roller cam. Hope to have the bay painted in a few weeks, and run the fuel lines. Have to get some money together now to finish the top end.

Well i know i should be saving for a top end, but i found a set of factory aluminum rear louvers on craigslist WITH all the hardware for 125.00. And they happened to be from 86' so they have the cutout for the high mount stop.

Always wanted a set, and couldn't resist. Have them resting on the car for now, but they are going to be sanded down and painted.

I got alot done today. I sanded and washed down the bay primer last night, so it was all ready to get painted today. Taped everything that i didn't want gray and went at it.

Before:

Right after paint:

Got the heater box back into place, as well as the hood latch, wiper motor, lower air dam, and new master cylinder. Also ran new rear brake lines, as the PO had copper lines.

Ordered the paint in spray cans from automotivetouchup.com. Gave them the color code and they matched it perfectly. Decided not to clear coat it, as it looks factory without it. Also picked up some DOT 5 brake fluid so the paint wont get ruined in case brake fluid is ever spilled.
