Default Change over to 5.7 from 2.8 v6

I just bought a beautiful 1987 Camaro that came through stock with a 2.8 MPI V6. I am debating the change over to a TPI 350 and I am wondering what I will be up against. I know a new bell housing will be in order, along with motor mounts and a new computer and wiring harness, curious to know if anyone has any input. Will the fuel pump make enough pressure etc?

Read the sticky, it should provide all of the info you are looking for....by the way on common GM autos the trans and bellhousing is one unit.

Thanks, I appreciate any input, as this is my first build. It is a 5 speed car, that, coupled with it's condition are the reasons I chose it. She's clean and straight from one end to the other, with no markings or ground effects, just pure Camaro! It's almost a shame to pull it apart, but I have decided to crate the factory engine, wiring harness etc, just in case I ever want to put it back to factory. Any tips on storing and preserving an engine, short of ripping it apart and packing it in cosmoline?

If you want it factory, leave it factory. I think once that 2.8 is out....its never going back and you'll have a hunk of junk on your hands. There are so many 3rd gens out there I just don't see any appreciable value happeneding.

I just did this swap in my 84.
Just posted some pics of the car here

If you have a donor car, this isn't too bad a swap. I just went the route of swapping everything over.

If it's a car that you plan on keeping and enjoying. Do the swap you'll be so happy with how it turns out.
