Default '88 Iroc-Z Roof Lining Help

Well, mine is kind of coming apart in a way. Some of it is hanging down a bit and some is just kinda not there anymore... anyway I can replace this for a reasonable price and put it up myself without using a staple gun? lol. I want it to look professional.

Once the headliner starts to fall it is a complete loss and needs replacement. A DIY job that looks good depends on your skill level.

How much would you expect it to cost if I were to hand it over to someone else to do?

Depending on were live and the estimates you get. I paid $150 to have mine done by Auto Uholstery shop. It is just the same as the factory headliner.

I just paid to have my head liner fixed yesterday.

I think that mechanic work is a lot of science - read the directions, follow the specifications. Body work and upholstery is art (my opinion). You can't just read a book on how to do it and expect it to look like a professional job. And when it comes to exterior appearance of my car - it better look PERFECT (that's just me).

I paid $125 plus tax for the job - drove it in and it was done the same day (it took them hours - not sure how long it was before they got to it though). I called a different place before I went to this place, and they quoted $85 (over the phone). He didn't ask if there was t-tops or anything like that. When I called the second place (the $125) place he asked questions and talked about removing plastic panels and stuff. He sounded like he'd done it before. Plus some friends recommended the place.

They shouldn't try to reuse the oldfabric when they do it. Also, I believe they're supposed to use a special kind of contact adhesive. If you try to DIY and use 3M contact adhesive from walmart, I think I've heard it will usually fall back down. I don't think it's made to withstand the heat of a car roof.

When it comes to my camaro, I'm much more quality sensative than I am price sensative. Decide where you stand.
