Carefull with rust under the rear wheel wells. I'm dealing with that right now. I've got both QP's cut out and and I'm having a heck of a time finding inner wheel wells. My trunk pan is 100% perfect. The bad news is that those inner wheel wells are very tough to buy. Trunk pans all day long...but those, nope. I've been to junk yards out here for a while and can't find anything worth cutting out. We're getting close to buying a donor car, or fabbing them out of something. The area where the jack is is typically the worst.
I would say you really really need to check all the "typical" 3rd gen rust spots. They are all fixable, but they get $$$$$

No, it's not worth that much. This past January I sold my 91 305 RS with 122k miles. It was RUST FREE, didn't need a paint job, was clean enough to eat off top and bottom, and had a perfect interior. The engine and trans was also very sound, and didn't use or leak oil. It really was a cream-puff, but I could only get $3200, but that was the winter market. With that, I even made a $1,000 profit over what I had invested in the car. I prolly could have gotten in the upper $3's for it in the spring, but I had my eye on getting something else to take advantage of winter time prices. In todays deflated car market, a rusty 6 cyl Camaro isn't worth anywhere near $2500. Maybe $1500...maybe, and that's if the rest of the car is in decent shape.
Oh, and the mileage? I got 28 on the highway with mine, averaging 75 mph.
