78 Z-28 worth it?
OK, I'm thinking of gettin this Z-28. http://lascruces.en.craigslist.org/cto/863340001.htmlI'd be doing a major street car, tunnel ram, roller cam, etc. and I'm thinking the price is pretty good if it has a good body other than the paint. I WOULD also like to drive it while I'm building the motor, and the guy claims it runs pretty well. Think it's worth it? He's sellin a lot of cars he has becaue he's moving. He's an hour and a half away from me but I'd see it as well worth it if the car is a good buy. What would you guys do?

That looks like a solid body, from what you can see anyway. Up here in the "rust belt" of the midwest, it's hard to find any decent body that hasen't already died of cancer. Actually, a solid empty body shell would go for more than $750. That body style never did float my boat too much at the time though. But nowadays, a nicely done up Camaro, no matter what the year, is always a hit.

I've always loved the 2nd gen Camaros. I prefer the chrome bumpers of the '74-'77 style, but for an all-out street mod car I'm happy with the plastic things I suppose. My favorite Camaro remains a '68 Z-28 but I can't afford one of them and this un would suit me just fine!

I would say that if it is solid, the core body that is, $750 is well worth the money. I am restoring an 81 that I had back in High school and the amount of work required to do all the floors, lower qp and rear roll pan is huge. I should also mention that I replaced the front half of the T top roof. This is all a result of New England rust.
If you don’t buy it, someone else will for sure

He'll take trades, so I'm thinking I'll see if I may have something he'd be interested in. I'd love to have it to work on. I'll keep you guys posted if I go for it, I think it'd be a fun project!
