Default wiring harness question

I might be trading my 79 camaro for a 86 trans am but the trans am something happened to the wiring harness going to the battery, alternater etc all the motor stuff and it melted. So i was wondering if theres any computer stuff in a 86 trans am that could of been harmed?

Well, no other responses, so I'll throw in my two cents... if it melted the wiring, I'm going to say that it probably blew fuses before it damaged the computer, etc. Your wiring screwed over tho. Yeah, I wouldn't think that the computer wouldbe damaged, if it has one. is it fuel injected, or does it have a carburetor? At the very least, Maybe your post will get noticed again...

if it got hot enough to melt the wiring it would have to have continued running until such point. my thoughts would be a serious overcharge. most likely it popped fuses b4 doing damage, but if not, well its a chance u gotta take :/

to add to the two previous posts, I would be concerned that they melted in the first place with no known fault and would pass on it. it may be a major headach just to try to find out why they melted and the fact that they may have also melted in other places you cant or have not noticed yet. it would suck big time to replace the wires just to have it happen again. electrical issues can be a major pain in the assets.
