Default Where to find fuel tank sending unit?

It's really a pain not having a fuel gauge, and I know my sending unit is bad. I went to advance hoping to get a new sending unit and pickup, only to find that they've discontinued it since the last time I checked. Advance, Autozone, and Rock Auto can't get it. Couldn't find either one on ebay either.

Also, my car came with CFI, and was later converted to carb. I'll be fine just getting a sending unit and pickup from a carbureted model of the same year, correct?

u will need to make sure the mounting on the tanks is the same for both. i would not think gm would make two different tanks for the same model and yr. but ive seen some strange things.

Couldnt you just run to the junkyard with old part in hand and check out a few? I would think that the drop in would be identical throughout but maybe the lock ring be different in some way. Might be a way around it. Get one for FI and run a good regulator with a return so you dont burn it up.

Shoot, if you cant find it. Pull that lame ol 350 of yours out and put in a LS1. Totally worth the unrelated problems right? HA HA!! Even though that wouldnt fix what your after..

I would prefer to get new, the sending unit isn't something I want to replace more than once (damn GM engineers and their gas tank placement )

I have a V6 parts car that I'm sure I could make the sending unit work, but like I said I would like new.

The LS1 is sounding pretty good right now. I've gotta replace the valve seals on my new engine because I cheaped out while building it and now I have smoke

Nah. She's gettin a new set of aluminum heads. I think im gonna go with the Patriot Performance 190cc 2.02 heads. It's plenty quick for me right now, I've got a bad hesitation though off idle I can't figure out.

First is axles for the Jheep though. My Dana 35 blew out and i've got a Dana 44 with a matching front axle lined up for $300 with all new moog steering parts.

Oh yeah, NOBODY can get that part. It's like someone bought them all and hid them. I checked availability less than a year ago and advance had the sender in stock for $15 bucks. Looks like I've got a project on my hands now...

Default Sending Unit

I seem to be having the same problem. I have a 91' RS, took out the ol' piece of garbage 305, and bought me a new 383/452 HP turn key engine. Now the problem is my furl lines run on the drivers side my pump is on the passenger side. I want to run new stainless lines but cant find a sending unit. WTF? So maybe someone here has a clue? And I dont want to keep the electric pump anymore, so a regulator isn't the answer for me...

I ended up buying the complete fuel injection assembly for a 1988. $180 without the fuel pump, then I put a piece of fuel hose in place of where the fuel pump normally goes and removed the wires for the fuel pump. Being that I have an 83, I also had to reuse the plug from my older sending unit, and extend the wires to reach the connector.

This may be a dumb question considering the " 1983 camaro z28. No, it's not stock." at the bottom of your post but what model is your camaro and what engine do you have?
