On my 89'camaro, when i ONLY TURN LEFT(cranking wheel at around 270degrees). i hear a loud almost screeching/ grinding /moaningnoise as i bust a U-shaped turn/ donuts. could this be the power steering pump goingout?or themy steering gear box? i will inspect it as soon as i can, but I WILL check this forum first thing tomorow.

things to rule out: i replaced the wheel cylinders, bearings, rotors & pads and greased heavily -about a month ago- No problems until today

[align=left]Most likely the power steering pump. But it's not uncommon even for a good pump to make a little bit of a noise if you turn the wheel to a hard full-lock. If it's making a "sawing whine" noise during normal turning however, then it could be bad. It doesn't necessarily have to be changed right away, but it'll be something to keep an eye on. Could also be low on fluid, have you checked/changed it ever?
