RE: whats a good v6?
I would assume somewhere you can find a cam for the 2.8. I believe the 3.8 V6 will fit - probably need to find one in a surplus yard and buy the entire engine and trans. It would make a major difference in perfomrance.
An interesting conversion would be to drop in the 4.3 liter V6 that was in the Impala back in the 80s sometime. It is just 3/4 of a 350 V8 and was bulletproof - the preferred taxi-cab engine all over the country due to extremely long life and low maintenance. Since a 350 fits in a Camaro this engine obviously would, too, but it might be quite a project.

RE: whats a good v6?
Being as it is a 1989 Camaro, I have one suggestion, and one suggestion only.
Anybody know where this guy can get himself the same 3.8L turbo motor that was found in the 1989 Turbo TransAm? If I'm not mistaken, the engine in the Turbo T/A was the same motor found in the Buick GNX. I believe the 3.8L in the Grand National was different from the GNX's motor. Can anyone help out?
Anyway, go with the 3.8L turbo motor. You will not regret the decision.
