I cant use a 4th gen maro's axle. I would need 4th gen wheels..

You haven't even told us the year of the malibu, first of all. Second of all you need to find out if that year malibu came with a 7.5" or 8.5" 10 bolt. Third of all, I think im gonna have to agree with black on this one (shuddering.) Buy it, and learn your lesson.

Why would you have to get 4th gen wheels for a 4th gen rear end?

 

because of the offset, 3rd gens have a more tucked in axle (i think it's something like -38mm offset or something like that, not really sure) than 4th gens.

 

He still doesn't need 4th gen wheels.

 

no, he'd need wheels that had the 4th gen backspacing.

 

I would need 4th gen wheels with a 4th gen axle because 4th gen axles are 4 inches longer, therefore, the 3rd gen wheels would stick out 2 inches more, and most likley bottom out on the wheel well.

Common scence....
