What are my carb rebuilding options?

I think my Edelbrock need a rebuild. (As part of a newly aquired car tune up). I dont want to buy a new carb if I can avoid it, but carb rebuilding is NOT one of my strong points. Does anyone offer carb rebuilding services? (At a DECENT price, I found a few that want 150-200 bucks. For that money, I might as well buy a new one! )
Any other suggestions?
Oh, and is a 600 cfm too big for a 305 with Edlebrock intake, (and will be getting headers soon?)

Depending on how bad off your's is it might be worth buying a new on. I am assuming you have the carter type? Beware when buying new. Some may have bad throttle shaft bushing from the start. Open the box and see if there is any play there. Thats another thing on your old carb bushings and butterflys may be work and out of shape and would need resizing. I usualy rebiult all my own but sent one to an independant Napa store for a rebuild. It came back worse than when I took it off. Three times and they could not fix it. Finally bought a new holly and worked great.
