Thumbs up What heads? What cam? What cost?

Hey, i gotta 87 z28 with a 305 SB. And its only a 305, so what cam and heads should i get for it. I heard GM vortec heads are good, but i heard if I get those, i need a certain intake, and i already have a brand new edel brock performance intake. And for cams, any recomendations?

And my biggest question, is how much do you think it would cost to get a cam installed( just your guess, i know that all shops veiry in labour prices ).

And same with heads, AROUND, how much for them to be installed? Is it just unbolting the old and bolting on the new? Done? Or do they need to be tuned for my engine "n" stuff?

Thanks, as always, all replies or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Old saying, "if you have to ask what it costs, you can not afford it". With that said it is a lot of work for little return, go the extra step and drop in a 350 for better results. Estimate at least $100 P/H (8 hrs is a guess) for the work you are asking and get actual real world estitmates.

This should help: https://camaroforums.com/forum/82-92-general-10/325-hp-305-must-read-1860/

Also, read a few books and then do it yourself, saves alot of money and you also have something to be proud of.

3.73 gears should help the 305 be a little more fun and aggressive?
