i believe the v-6 bellhousing bolt pattern is different from the v-8. if you get an 5 speed from a v-8 camaro i suggest driving with a light foot

you're gonna need at least a new bellhousing. the 2.8 is a 60* v6 and has a completely different bolt pattern than the any SBC (90* v8). personally, i'd say scrap the T5 and look for a T56 (out of an LT1 4th gen preferably). i've heard of T5's failing behind a stock TPI 305. that 350 will practically eat it for lunch.

If it was indeed rebuilt by B&M, the odds are it's already beefed up. You will need a bell housing from a V8, and IIRC, you will need a clutch that fits the V6 T5 specifically, because of it's 10 spline input shaft vs the 28 spline that the V8's use.

They do make a coversion clutch for it if it is the 10 spline since the V6 clutch is 9" or 9 1/2" that is weak vs the 10 or 10 1/2' clutch that was installed in the V8 you will want to look for one.
