What are the benefits of roller rockers? I see them going for around 150 bucks with claims of 15-25 HP gains.Do they really increase the 'seat of your pants' pull for astreet rod, or are they best left to racing where you are trying to shave off 10ths of a second?

to get power you need efficiency. the roller rockers have a roller. sits on the valve spring and instead of simply pushing it down and wearing on the rocker and spring. the stress on the rocker and valve is reduced by decreasing friction. while nothing is 100% efficient, this is definately an improvement. less friction= less fatigue= less heat = more power. im no expert. but thats just one reason. might be somethin else.

Seat of your paints, I don't think so. If are running high revs and want that kind of performance then use full rollers. It used to be and may still be though you can not use full rollers on pressed in studs. You would need to have screw in studs for full rollers. If you are going to use roller tipped then use a 1.6 ratio rocker or a 1.6 intake 1.5 exhaust. It would be like installing a higher lift longer duration cam. But you also have to check and see if they will replace a railed rocker. You replaced your motor with an early one Scott so you do not have rail guided rockers. Rail guided rockers came out in 88 (?maybe?) and use a valve stem that stands taller above the valve spring.
