Wanting a 1992 camero
Hello all... Newb to the forum. I am looking for a 92 camero as a second car. Looking for V8.
How difficult is it to work on/repair these around this year? I had a 68 RS about 15 years ago and loved working on it.
Thanks.

Welcome
it comes down to what you mean
they aren't OBD2 so you can't use a cheapie scanner to read codes or get mail order tunes inexpensively
there is plenty of room under the hood with respect to engine access
gen 1 sbc parts are plentiful
they don't handle like a 4th or 5th gen
like with any 20+ year old car, unless you are paying big money you can be assured there will be wiring mysteries as well as years of much needed repairs/maintenance needed

No such animal as a Camero!
As far as accessibility, the 3rd gen's are easier to work on than the 4th gen, but not as easy as the 1st and 2nd.
Mechanically, what's considered "easy" depends on your skill level and ability to diagnose with your ear and use deductive reasoning, instead of having a computer or scanner tell you what to look for.

For me the L98 350 was hands down the best motor in 92. These cars still have some value. The 305's TPI are not bad motors they are just not going to hold up to a pounding like the 350.
If you pick up a decent manual and you can follow a manual they are not hard to work on. You do not need a scanner to work on the check engine lite in a 92. When you ground a connetor the ECM will flash codes through the check engine lite. Your manual will tell what the code means and where to start checking for voltages and resistance. Scanner will make it easier if you have something odd going on.
Handling and braking on the 3rd gen is a nice upgrade to the 1st and 2nd gens.
