Default v8 swap

hey all im new here and i have an 86 camaro iroc v8..just got it
but..the gas milage sucks and im not really into speed but i love the body of the camaro
So my question..
is there any 4cyl engines with a tranny that would fit no problem?
or even v6..but i just want a straight forward swap with minimal trouble..
all your help appreciated!

What kind of gas milage are you getting? What do you expect out of it? Its not a f*&king little import. Maybe yours is just in poor running condition.

dude there are several ways to help fuel mileage, #1 thing is tire pressure, then make sure the air filter(s) are clean , regular oil changes , and proper tune-up will help also. alot of things that make more power will also help with fuel mileage (as long as you can keep your foot out of it) I.E. headers , free flowing exhaust, underdrive pullies, K&N filter , and a performance prom can increase fuel milage by making the engine more efficent.

Honestly, get a full tune up, a free flowing cat-back, headers, a high flow cat, an intake, and if your car has a 180 degree or 160 degree thermostat, switch back to a 192. You'll lose a bit of power, but you'll have a bit more money in your pocketbook. Keep your emissions equipment intact. The smog pump can go, IMO, though.

My GF's Camaro gets 25-26 on the freeway with a full load. With just me, I've gotten as much as 30 MPG. That's travelling between 80 and 90 MPH for 1/3 of the trip.

If you go through with the swap, how much do you want for the complete 350 TPI, computer and all?
