RE: used 91 camaro rs question
Bought a black 91 last monday for $800. and a very low mileage 91 on Saturday for $500. with damage to the rear. Both cars $1300. and enough parts to make a PERFECT one and still have a spare everything. All rust free Tennesse cars.
I turned down a 92 that someone had put a carburated 350 in for $2000. and a 32,000 mile 91 that rear ended another car and popped the bags for $400. (told buddy about that one and he found matching fenders and hood (didnt need repaint) for $200. and had a bodyshop to install and replace windshield and sheetmetal for $600. Sohe has around $1200. to $1500 in a really nice 91 v8 car with low miles and he didnt do any work.
There is better deals out there all you have to do is keep an eye out and talk to alot of people that are into cars.
You stated that it had a couple of rust bubbles, So that is a repaint deduction
You stated it had 188k miles (whew) alot for a 305 unless VERY well cared for(huge deduction)
You need to make sure the cluster works properly all gauges, also the hatch pull down motor and housing. Converters for states that require inspection.
Would I buy it at that price? Only if it was PERFECT everywhere else New tires .seats, exhaust<headliner. etc.
This car is in the 93- 97 high mileage LT1 price range .much better car in my opinion
I would pass on this one and search around, ask people that work in parts stores about for sale in area cars .
Sorry so long of reply (just my thoughts from personal experience)
