All stock V-6 cars DID NOT have Headers, but cast iron manifolds. Also the exhaust size sounds about right.

Alright thanks. I was just wondering because i have dual exhaust with a flowmaster muffler made for a z28 and when they put it on they gaged all my pipes at the ends to 2.5in

Sounds like Deezil13 is confusing the exhaust pipe and headers. The 2 1/4 is the size of the exhaust pipe, right? The header is a set of tubes that replace the exhaust manifolds between the engine and the exhaust pipe.

Cast IronExhaust Manifold to Cat and 2 1/4 IM pipe to muffler (which is not stock) with dual 2 1/2 exhaust outlets. Would be my guess.

Thanks. Yeah I didnt know that i didnt have headers. They look the same pretty much. Yeah i kinda figured they werent stock because i am pretty sure the guy that previously owned the car was doing everything and just waiting to but the engine in. I have talked to him and he wanted to drop a new engine in but just decided to work on his Chevelle instead. I know i have to be pushing more than stock because of the 2 1/4in cast iron manifolds. Thanks guys though. Now i know i dont have headers.....One other question...how did he get bigger cast iron manifold? and can i get any bigger ones?

Previous owner didn't, the maniffold is STOCK. All V6's are the same in this area.

ohh ok that makes sense. I'm guessing the manifold is pretty hard to find a performance one for a 2.8 v6? I have found a lot of other parts but no manifold. Do you think this would be anygood for a converter?UNIVERSAL - HIGH PERFORMANCE CATALYTIC CONVERTER: Non-Polished, 8% Less BackPressure To Increase Horsepower And Torque and Still OBD II Compliant in 49 States (Except California) I dont have to worry about admissions so i was thinking also about just taking out the cat.

A high flow Cat is not going to help you at all and taking it out is also not going to help. Also your car is NOT a OBDII car and you only need to meet emission standards for your State. Just relize the facts that a 2.8 is not going to be a mean hi power street machine. Try making the car look good is my suggestion.
