transmission lifting up?
I was driving home from work today and I heard a popthat camefrom under my car (not cool). After that I noticed that if I get on the gas a little, the transmission and shifter lift up. It feels really loose. It's dark now so I cant go under my car and check but what do you guys think this could be? Maybe a bolt that came loose or something. I didn't notice anything else wrong, same pickup, same sound, shfits fine, but the tranny and shifter lift upwhen I get on it.

RE: transmission lifting up?
transmission mount probly busted. mine was like that when i bought it. pretty cheap/easy fix. look for the rubber to be seperated in the middle or from the metal parts of the mount.

RE: transmission lifting up?
I broke two trans mounts on my 91 and I heard the polyurethane mount helps but also heard that poly bushing in the rear control arms and torsion arm that runs to the tranny from the rearend will pretty much remedy the situation seems to be common third gen issue.

RE: transmission lifting up?
Is it lifting up and to the side? sounds like you have lost a motor mount. Check your motor mounts if the rubber part has broken will allow your engine to flex till it hits the limit. May have been what the pop was.
or were you able to confirm it was the transmission mount?
