I'm no expert myself...actually I'm probably least knowledgable on transmissions of anything on a camaro...but with the flaring, I think it's just the servo worn and slipping and will probably just get worse over time. I would think it would be similar to a clutch wearing out. Again, I'm no pro. Actually, I have this servo that I posted a link to. I got an extra one from another tranny that never was built and it's still in the packaging. I'll sell it to ya' if you want. Let me know if you want it!
