Default Trans Swap??

after searching for a 5spd 3rd gen that i could buy local and not having any luck doing so, im considering about buying a cheap auto that i could rebuild and replace the engine and transmission in (5 speed manual), the other questions that i have is is it worth doing? how much work is involved and how would i go about doing, i know i have the knowledge to pull it off but my only real worry is the pedal set up. i know ill probally have to bore the floor hole out for a shifter and cut the firewall for some new pedals, any information conserning this topic would be greatly appreciated

thank you!

Default RE: Trans Swap??

if you get a th350 they are fairly easy to rebuild i did my first one a couple weeks ago i picked up a haynes manual for gm automatic trans it covers about every one they have the bigest thing is keeping track of what goes were in the valve body. as far as what you have to change in the car to do it id go to the junk yard and scronge the parts but what would have to be changed im not sure with out seeing it hope some of this helps. oh and check ebay for a rebuild kit you can get them alot cheper
