Default Timing Question?

Ok I have a 1989 Camaro RS with a tbi 305. I was wondering if there is a wire I have to disconnect some where before I can set my timing. I know in my 95 chevy truck with a 350 tbi I had a wire under the passenger side that I had to disconnect before I could set the timing. If there is a wire on the camaro does anyone know where it is.
thanks,
JR

Just unhook the plug going into the distributor that hooks to the harness. Not the power wire. Then you can set TDC, then hook it back up. You can find the correct way to set your timing in any manual for your year of camaro. Which if you are going to work on your camaro you should already have.

I am sorry I did not drop what I was doing today to log on and answer your question more promptly.
But for anyone else that needs to know and is not in a G0D DAMN hurry, There should be a tan wire coming out of the harness ( big harness, computer harness) that runs over the HVAC. Thats the one you unplug to bypass the computer for adjusting the timing.
