Default thermostat

i have my manifold off to replace the injectors (two were cracked) so i thought why not replace the thermostat now do i need to use a sealer with the gasket or no?

Yeah, you want to. But use only enough (Permatex Ultra Copper) to put a thin coating on the gasket, don't glop it on.
First make sure both surfaces, intake and water neck, are scraped clean and sanded smooth.
